No. 5 team reveal paint scheme for Bojangles Southern 500
LiftMaster, Kasey Kahne and 2016 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, Terry Labonte, revealed Labonte’s 1982 JD Stacy Buick paint scheme as the inspiration for Kahne’s LiftMaster design for the Labor Day weekend race.

To bring the unveiling to life with the latest technology, LiftMaster partnered with NEXT/NOW and invited guests to use HTC Vive technology to “go back in time” and experience life in 1982. Stereoscopic 3-D rendering, a high-resolution display and a 110-degree wide view was used to set up the unveil. Guests were able to see the car as it ran in 1982 and now as a 2016 tribute car by taking a virtual walk around the team's garage.

LiftMaster celebrates 2016 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee
Labonte, a two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, captured 22 wins in NASCAR’s top series with his final victory coming in the No. 5 car with Hendrick Motorsports at Darlington Raceway in 2003. His first win was also at Darlington Raceway in 1980.
Through an interactive, virtual reality experience at the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Aug. 24, LiftMaster, Kasey Kahne and 2016 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, Terry Labonte, revealed Labonte’s 1982 JD Stacy Buick paint scheme as the inspiration for Kahne’s LiftMaster design for the Labor Day weekend race. Members of the media including ESPN, Fox Sports and NBC Sports were all in attendance along with friends and fans.
